Life begins at 40
So we’ve got to post 40. That’s 40 posts in 41 weeks which must be worth a nod. That’s 40 weeks where we have promoted good causes and poked a bit of fun at my life as I transition through my career.
By hook or by crook I have put something out every week and I promise you they are all delivered mindfully and there is a bit of my heart and soul in each one.
I want to thank everyone who reads the blog – even if just occasionally – and those who have read it and clicked into the good cause links, and checked out my CV.
The plan is to get to post 51 so we have a full ‘Year in the Life’ and make a decision on it then.
The one post that was missed of course was the week my Dad died and in tribute to him, this first year will purposefully be one post down.
I hope you continue to enjoy Adrian’s All and if you do, say hello be a critical friend. It will help me to stop talking to myself, as intelligent and all those conversations are. 😊
Couples therapy – the filim bit
I went to see ‘The Invite’ on Monday, and it was certainly the ride that’s for sure. (No pun intended). The fact is a full review of the movie could take up the entire blog, so I won’t do one. But I have called this section ‘couples therapy’ for a reason. In one respect It’s one to watch with your other half from the back row and in other respects one to watch and then go out for dinner and have a chat. That’s a bit cryptic but go and see it and you’ll know what I mean. It stars Seth Rogan, Olivia Wilde (who also directs) Penelope Cruz and Edward Norton. My brother (and movie correspondent) said it’s the best film he’s seen this year. What better reason to check it out. 🙂
Hitchin at the World Cup
I try where possible to live a life without envy, but a neighbour of mine will find himself at the World Cup closing ceremony next Sunday directing his musical compositions that will feature in the show. This just weeks after he did the same at The Aztec, and up in Toronto for the opening ceremonies there.
Little or no fuss has been made about this locally, but I’m massively impressed and he’s happy for me to give it a nod in this blog.
So, bravo, Andy Theakstone and Polyphonia music. I’m looking forward to seeing the closing ceremony next Sunday. If, through all of this you need to borrow milk or a cup of sugar, let me know.
I got two tickets to Iron Maiden baby…
So the Iron Maiden two-day festival Ed Fest took place at Knebworth this weekend and although not an avid fan I think it would have been a cool gig to go to. I saw the first of the Maiden fans gathering at Stevenage Station about 10am on Friday accompanied by a small amount of confusion around where to go. Apparently, logistics were not great but the one review I saw of the gig gave it 5 stars. And I have to say the one gig I have been to at Knebworth was the best outdoor gig experience I have ever had so I know an enjoyable time would have been had by all. There was a gaggle of what I would say proud fans around the hotels and bars where I live this morning looking happy, so that’s endorsement enough for me. It has been filmed for their latest movie, so I look forward to seeing that.
A quick mention for my musical godfather Tony Moore who opened the festival on Friday with his triumphant AWAKE show. What a treat for the arriving Iron Maiden fans. Check out more info and future dates for AWAKE shows on his website.
Do good well – Disability Pride Month
July marks Disability Pride Month, which is a time to honour the diversity, history and contributions of disabled people everywhere. For employers, it’s not just a chance to show support but a great way to create a more inclusive workplace.
I have to be honest and say that I have no personal connection to this cause, but it caught my eye and I am happy to promote.

Once again, I am very proud that Adrian’s All has reached 40 posts. Thanks so much for checking in when you can. To those observing England’s progress in the World Cup, I wish you the best possible outcome. I will see you all again next week.
